[VIDEO] Sales Funnel Breakdown: Weight Loss Advertisers

A bunch of people have wrote in asking for a breakdown of the sales funnels for advertisers in what is probably THE MOST competitive niche out there…

Weight loss.

Ask and ye shall receive.

We’ve recorded a quick 9 minute video that breaks down the advertising strategies for 3 different advertisers.

One advertiser is a nutracetical targeted at an older generation… another is a community targeted at women in the 30-50 age range… and the last is another nutraceutical company that uses fear of the “american parasite” to convince prospects to buy.

There are a lot of great tips/tricks you can apply to your campaigns… even if you’re not in weight loss or think their tactics are “scammy”.

Check it out:

  1. Hey Mike, thanks for the real-world case study on whats working on displaying advertising. I would like to start a website that address academic needs of college students in terms of handling their assignments etc.

Which are the traffic sources would you recommend. I know Google is a little scaring as they might shut it down. I was thinking in the lines of Facebook. I would love to hear thoughts on the best traffic platform or sources to target college students apart from Facebook. Your insights will be of profound help and guidance.

    • Hey Kevin,

You’ll be perfectly fine on Google as long as your landing pages and ad creatives follow their polices. I’d say the Google Display Network would be very good for targeting college students, provided you choose the right publishers.

Facebook is also a good one. You might also want to try Native Ad Networks like Taboola, Outbrain and rev:content (you can read about those at this link). Facebook is also great for targeting college students.

      Thanks for your comment!

  2. How do you find affiliate offers with Adbeat?

In the Adbeat email video you sent today about weight loss, “American Parasite Found” is a supplement (probiotic) company “Whole Body Research”; (I had to send an email)they said there is no affiliate program that we have for “Whole Body Research”.
    Is there a better way?

    • The best way to do that is to use Adbeat to search within ad destination URLs. You can search destination URLs for common variables and URLs used for affiliate offers. For example, if you search for “hop.clickbank.com”, you’ll get a list of all Clickbank affiliate offers being advertised on Display.

Here’s a video that goes into more detail:

  3. Hi, Mike.

Thanks for the excellent video tips you present.

I was wondering if you could present some insight into how some companies are using display ads to generate leads in the debt consolidation/debt settlement vertical.

    Thank you kindly!!

    • Hey John,

This would be a very interesting market to breakdown.

We’ll definitely consider it for an upcoming post.

      Thanks for your comment!
